Pretty kicked about filling in for Mike Masnick for this episode of Ctrl-Alt-Speech with Ben Whitelaw (who founded the fabulous Everything in Moderation). Thanks for having me on, Ben!

- Court cases in Kenya seeking to hold Facebook liable.
- US plans to surveil social media posts by immigrants with implications for their visa status.
- Twitter/X challenge to Section 79(3)(b) in the Karnataka High Court (also about 2 broad approaches to content blocking in India).
Along the way, I proposed an addendum to the Streisand Effect– the unintended consequence of attempts to hide, remove, or censor information, where the effort instead increases public awareness of the information. (for those of you who may not know, Mike Masnick coined the term).
What I said was this:
In low rule of law jurisdictions, one streisand is counterproductive / bad PR, multiple streisands are a demonstration of capability.
We did want to cover the Broadcasting Bill as well, but ran over.
